In pursuit of this ethos, the college embarked on a transformative HVAC upgrade, setting a new standard for energy efficiency and comfort across its esteemed campus. Spearheaded by Hoffman Hydronics – Georgia, the project integrates Griswold Controls Coil Piping Packages to retrofit the existing infrastructure with cutting-edge solutions aligned with sustainability and operational excellence.
Challenges and Solutions
The primary challenge was to retrofit the existing infrastructure with a modern HVAC solution capable of meeting Spelman College's stringent performance and sustainability standards. Hoffman Hydronics recommended Griswold Controls' Coil Piping Packages, equipped with QuickSet Manual Balance Valves and strainers, for their reliability, efficiency, and ease of installation.
Benefits and Outcomes
The implementation of Griswold Controls products streamlined the HVAC upgrade process, reducing installation time and minimizing disruption to college operations. The project enhanced environmental conditions and achieved substantial energy savings, providing a more comfortable and efficient campus environment.

Spelman College utilized Griswold Controls Coil Piping Packages, which include all components for a complete coil connection, simplifying on-site assembly. QuickSet Manual Balance Valves were selected for their precision and easy manual flow adjustments. Strainers were employed to protect the system from particulate matter, maintaining clean water flow and reducing maintenance needs.
