Description: Delaware County has a new courthouse nearing construction as it continues to invest in the northern section of Delaware’s downtown. Plans call for demolition of the historic but vacant Elks Lodge the county has owned for nine years at 110 N. Sandusky Street to make way for the $32 million, 82,000-square-foot Delaware County Judicial Building. Delaware City Council will consider approval of a rezoning and development plan for the project this evening. Jon Melvin, the county’s facility manager, plans for the demolition of the Elks Lodge in November and excavation work to begin in December.
