Facility Description:
The U.S. Air Force, in conjunction with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the 355th Fighter Wing Davis-Monthan Air Force Base (DMAFB) approved the Construction of a General Instruction Building. The 355th Fighter Wing DMAFB is a premier base in Tucson, Arizona. Soon this new construction building will serve the 11,000 Airmen. Furthermore, this unit is dedicated to supporting four combatant commanders around the globe every day.
Project Description:
The DMAFB General Instruction Building includes a 56,000-square-foot Military Construction (MILCON) facility to accommodate students, instructors and associated parking areas on approximately 15 acres of land near the Swan Gate.
The construction of the General Instruction Building (GIB) is to include classrooms, conference rooms, training space for 126 students, instructor offices for 159 instructors/military, civilian and contractor personnel, supply rooms, team rooms for training, administrative space, energy monitoring control systems connections, building information systems, site improvements and covered training area. In addition, sustainability/energy measures will be incorporated into this project.
To meet the high standards of the Department of Defense (DoD) Griswold Controls installed CPP-2IRIS Packages with customer supplied ATCs.
